Goran Cekan, DVM

Dr. Goran Cekan has always had a deep love for animals and a strong dedication to veterinary medicine. He graduated from the University
of Belgrade, Serbia in 2012 and later earned a Master’s degree in Small Animal Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American
Veterinary Medical Association and combines advanced medical training with a passion for surgery to provide thoughtful, comprehensive
care.

Early in his career, Dr. Cekan worked with zoo animals and served as an Animal Care Director, supporting conservation projects and overseeing the health and welfare of diverse species. He later practiced in general practice, urgent care, and emergency settings in North Carolina, managing a wide range of medical and surgical cases. He is trained in dentistry, including complicated extractions, as well as advanced soft tissue surgery, and is committed to safe anesthesia and compassionate, individualized patient care.

Dr. Cekan values building strong relationships with families and believes clear communication is key to achieving the best outcomes. He is excited to serve the local community and support local rescue organizations.

Outside of work, Dr. Cekan enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their six-year-old son. A former basketball player, he still appreciates the teamwork and discipline the sport taught him. He is also a loyal Dallas Mavericks fan and enjoys exploring Texas BBQ spots around the area.
